Program Description

The Medieval Worlds mention is common to the universities of Lyon 2, Lyon 3, and Savoie Mont Blanc, as well as to the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales. These universities offer training of excellence, recognized at the national and international level, for medieval studies, in history, archaeology, and literature. The master Medieval worlds course Historical culture and medieval worlds guarantee the acquisition of professional skills related to the research through a solid training in methodology (documentary research and critical analysis of sources) and technique (medieval Latin, palaeography, initiation into archaeology). This training combines master's courses taken at the USMB and shared Lyon courses, grouped over one day or provided by videoconference.

Thanks to its regional organization, this diploma allows students to be offered a vibrant choice of seminars in medieval history and puts students in contact with many researchers in history or medieval archaeology.

About the School

The University Savoie Mont Blanc (Chambéry) offers both short (University Diplomas, University Diplomas in Technology) and long (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate and also Engineering Diplomas) courses, whether academics initial, academics continuous, work-study or Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE), on-site or at a distance.

On its three campuses, Annecy, Le Bourget-du-Lac, and Jacob-Bellecombette, the Université Savoie Mont Blanc offers particularly attractive study conditions in the heart of an exceptional environment. Everywhere, in this structured multi-polarity, students find personalized follow-up, support in the definition and development of their personal projects, and the assets to integrate into working life successfully.

The research is run by recognized, labeled, and distinguished laboratories involved in close partnerships with major organizations, international organizations, or other structures at the cutting edge of innovation . Our researchers are strongly involved in a few fields that accompany territorial dynamics: mountains, mechatronics, the organization, tourism, image, and energy sectors. Together with physics, they contribute to the Université Savoie Mont Blanc's visibility in niches where its reputation is internationally recognized.

Through the commitment and mobilization of all its staff, between Savoie and Mont-Blanc, the university has a single ambition: to work towards personal success and contribute to the better integration of its students into the knowledge society of the 21st century.
