Program Highlights

Innovative Curriculum: The integrative MBA curriculum, aligned with the changing demands of global business, provides you with the needed skills to become an innovative and creative business leader. The curriculum integrates practical business application with leading-edge research. It provides the right blend of theory, and practice, offering a comprehensive and integrated education. The business world does not have lines dividing one discipline from another and neither do we. The integrated core allows you to think actively about the connections among disciplines. This is achieved by emphasizing key functional areas in integrative course modules, and team teaching across departmental disciplines. Students from a wide variety of backgrounds and prior undergraduate majors can benefit from the curriculum offered.

A Student Focused Environment: Events are planned each semester to facilitate interaction between MBA administration, faculty and students outside of the classroom. These events begin before the first class starts during the new student Orientation. The orientation includes a social dinner event at the end of orientation week. Each semester, current students meet with the Director for pizza and informal conversation. Several times each month the Director invites students to attend small group lunches to develop relationships among students and receive feedback regarding the MBA program. These events assist in the development of valuable relationships by providing informal discussions that enhance your learning experience.

Courses Designed With Your Schedule In Mind: Whether you are an employee moving up in your current company, in transition or a recent college graduate, the flexible course scheduling design will meet your needs. The MBA program accommodates the needs of full and part time students by offering courses during the evening hours. The program allows you to complete your degree at a pace that fits your personal schedule, without the interruption of your professional career. A full time student usually completes the program in two years and part-time students in three to four years. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday in evening.

Technology: Computer technology applications and information sources are on the forefront of management theory and practice. The College offers full support of a leading-edge information technology infrastructure, which provides students with networking experiences for their team projects. The Business Information Center laboratory is fully equipped with an integrated network computer system. Business and educational software, electronic mail, and statistical analysis software are standard.

Faculty: The UNLV College of Business faculty is dedicated to student development. They are committed to excellence in teaching and to ensuring that all courses are intellectually rigorous and relevant to today's business practices. Our faculty value a smaller, more student-focused atmosphere created by our small faculty to student ratio. You will get to know your professors personally and be able to talk with them in formal and informal settings. They are active in research and publish in quality journals across the business disciplines. With a vibrant mix of cultural heritage and business experiences, all faculty members hold doctoral degrees in their field of specialization from leading academic institutions.

Official Seal of Accreditation: The UNLV College of Business has been fully accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the highest level of accreditation attainable. We are among 25 percent of all national and international schools offering business programs to have received this distinction and the only program accredited in southern Nevada.
