The Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Program provides graduate instruction and cutting-edge research in a wide spectrum of areas including communications, control, networking, and signal processing; computer engineering; electronic circuits; optoelectronics; radio frequency (RF), micro-and millimeter waves; and physical electronics.
The graduate program is tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual student. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged, and the ECEGP has strong synergy with other departments and programs on campus.
The ECE Ph.D. program is affiliated with the Designated Emphases in Biotechnology/Biophotonics inter-graduate group programs, which allow Ph.D. students to receive and be credited for training in the areas of biotechnology and biophotonics
Since its founding in 1962, the UC Davis College of Engineering has graduated more than 29,000 engineering and computer science students studying in disciplines ranging from biotechnology to space exploration.
Throughout its history, the UC Davis College of Engineering has made a positive difference in the world through socially responsible engineering. Today, we are proud to prepare more than 4,600 undergraduate students and nearly 1,200 graduate students to become the next generation of engineering leaders and entrepreneurs.
By connecting people and technology, we solve the world’s most pressing problems
and create the next generation of engineering leaders and entrepreneurs. Our faculty, students, staff, and partners collaborate to design a better tomorrow and make a positive difference in the world. It’s in everything we do.
Engineering a better world calls for solutions of a different caliber, demanding innovation across disciplines using a design-centric approach. From energy, climate, and transportation to biomedicine, agriculture technology, and space exploration, we strive to bring a sustainable, healthier, and the more resilient world within reach.
