Get your start to a successful career in criminal justice with our certified bachelor's program. Understanding crime, its prevention, and the research and analysis involved in criminal justice organizations and administration can prepare you for an exciting, challenging career. Get your start in our bachelor's program in Criminal Justice.
Your courses will delve into the fundamentals of criminal justice—its organization and administration, criminological theory, and research design and analysis—and you'll explore these concepts through projects in Advanced Criminal Justice Studies. You can customize your studies by integrating interdisciplinary coursework from related fields like psychology, government, and information technology. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in an internship at an agency related to your professional goals. Our undergraduate program will prepare you for a career in fields that span law enforcement (at the federal, state, and local levels), corrections, and juvenile justice, as well as a variety of investigative, service, and administrative careers in the public and private sectors.
We are Maryland's only college dedicated to public service! Training the public leaders of the future. Tomorrow's workplace is even more complex than today's. The College of Public Affairs prepares the problem-solvers who will analyze policy and lead public, nonprofit, health-care, and third sector organizations of the future.
Our faculty members are renowned experts in their fields. They include a group of National Academy of Public Administration fellows, five University System of Maryland Board of Regents' Award winners, a Fulbright Scholar, an endowed professor, and numerous Schaefer Center, fellows. In the classroom, they urge you to analyze today's pressing policy issues to inform your contribution to tomorrow's national and international public affairs. Our academic programs capitalize on the University's distinction in public administration, criminal justice, and health and human services.
