Program Description

Current computer systems are made up of various computing elements interconnected at all levels, both at the level of the large servers that support cloud services and the distributed computing systems that make up the edge and interact with the outside world through through sensors and actuators, constituting what has been called the Internet of Things (IoT - Internet of Things).

Currently we are witnessing a spectacular growth in connectivity, the size of systems and the number of digital devices connected to the network. The volume of data to be processed is growing rapidly and must be acquired from heterogeneous sources and, often, dispersed among themselves. Networked systems are increasingly present in all areas of socio-economic activity, such as industry, communication, automotive, transport, logistics, agriculture, health, leisure and culture, etc.

This digital revolution will be led by professionals, engineers and scientists, highly specialized in the field of networked computer systems and who are capable of providing efficient solutions to problems inherent to these systems, such as performance, scalability, efficiency energy, reliability and security.

The Master's Degree in Computer and Network Engineering is aimed at training specialized professionals and researchers with international competence in the field of computer systems and networked computing devices, ranging from cloud computing to edge computing.

To this end, the master's degree delves into the study of systems based on mobile networks, wireless networks of sensors and actuators, networks for control applications, embedded and distributed systems, configuration and administration of computer clusters, heterogeneous architectures for mass computing, the architecture and performance of modern multicore processors, the IoT, the security and reliability of networked computer systems, adaptability and reconfiguration in fault-tolerant solutions, cybersecurity, as well as information processing and transmission multimedia.
