Master in Marine Sciences

MSc. Degree in Marine Sciences is a 2-year joint degree program offered by the University of Milano-Bicocca in partnership with Maldives National University. The Faculty is made up of experts from the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, the Maldives National University, as well as other non-Italian universities and research organizations. The official language of the Master’s Degree course is English (B2 level required for admission). In order to foster the intercultural exchange and enable our students to enjoy their stay in our country, non-Italian students will be required to pass an Italian level B1, administered by the University (free). The teaching is based on a multi-disciplinary approach integrating cutting-edge knowledge and research in this rapidly developing field, with the aim to address present and future environmental challenges.

Applications are now open for all open-access Bachelor's and Master’s programs. Additionally, VISA- SEEKER candidates will have the advantage of an earlier evaluation, granting them extra time to complete the necessary procedures related to the issuance of the study visa.Starting in January 2025, applications will open for limited-enrollment Bachelor’s and Master’s programs as well. The platform is exclusively for students (both Italian and international) holding a foreign qualification.

Career opportunities for Master’s Degree graduates include positions in the public or private sectors as marine environment analyst and management experts, marine biologists and ecologists, marine and coastal resources experts, marine and coastal environmental policy experts, and human relations experts in maritime activities. The program also provides a solid background to pursue doctoral studies and a career in the academic sector.
