The Master’s Degree in Applied Experimental Psychological Sciences (AEPS) offered by the Department of Psychology at the University of Milano-Bicocca is a new innovative two-year study program that focuses on the application of advanced knowledge in psychological sciences to address relevant human needs and tackle diverse issues in a range of contexts and domains. The goal of the program is to teach cutting-edge perspectives on the cognitive, social, emotional, and neural processes underlying human thought, behavior, language, knowledge, and decision-making. The program will help AEPS graduates acquire advanced theoretical and empirical knowledge, strong transferable methodological research skills, with a specific focus on application of these skills , combining flexibility (e.g., the methodological research skills can be applied to a wide range of contexts) and specificity (e.g., they are applied to a specific issue during the course). The expertise gained through the program will open a range of career paths for our graduates to pursue careers both nationally and internationally, across academia as well as the private and public sector. The program also provides a foundation for undertaking doctoral studies.
The master's degree course, according to the provisions of Law 163/2021, qualifies to practice the profession of psychologist. Therefore the the regulation of the course has been changed. In order to participate in the selection procedure for admission to the Master’s degree in Applied Experimental Psychological Sciences it is necessary to be in possession of the following academic qualifications and to meet the following requirements: 1) Bachelor's Degree, Specialist Degree/Master's Degree or Degree awarded according to the system prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99, or a three-year university diploma or an academic qualification obtained abroad acknowledged as suitable. Conditional admission is permitted for those who plan to complete the programme no later than 31 October 2024 2) 88 university study credits (ECTS) taken by 6th May 2024 and properly distributed among the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors of Psychology: M-PSI/01, M-PSI/02, M-PSI/03, M-PSI/04, M-PSI/05, M-PSI/06, M-PSI/07, M-PSI/08 3) Knowledge of the English language at a level of at least B2 For candidates with foreign qualifications the Committee ascertains that the 88 ECTS have been achieved and that the curricular requirements have been met basing on the documents submitted by each candidate, also considering the detailed programmes of the examinations. For 2025-26 intake, candidates with international qualifications will benefit from a new application platform, starting in January 2025. Additionally, VISA- SEEKER candidates will have the advantage of an earlier evaluation, granting them extra time to complete the necessary procedures related to the issuance of the study visa.
Graduates can pursue careers in academia, private, and public sectors, both nationally and internationally.
