With a firm focus on practical learning, our Business School aims to make students employable and ready to succeed in the workplace. We pride ourselves on creating the right learning environment for you to achieve your business aspirations. That’s why we’ve adapted techniques used on our legal courses with the aim of developing an engaging specialist learning experience that will prepare you for a career in the world of business.

Flexible study:

We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different. That’s why we offer a wide range of study modes (full-time, part-time, on campus, online) across our courses to provide you with the greatest choice and flexibility you need to succeed in your studies.

Our Business School campuses are in London Bloomsbury, Birmingham and Manchester for undergraduate courses. Postgraduate courses are taught at our Birmingham, Leeds, London Moorgate and Manchester campuses. Each is a thriving commercial hub, ideally situated to give you great access to music venues, theatres, cinemas, bars and restaurants. Our postgraduate courses can be studied part-time or full-time and also available online.

Online:

Our online programmes will save you the time and money on commuting to and from campus and allow you to study anywhere, across devices, however you can be reassured that the course won’t be compromised on quality or be less demanding than our on-campus courses.

Course Design:

With a firm focus on practical learning, our Business School aims to make students employable and ready to succeed in the workplace. We pride ourselves on creating the right learning environment for you to achieve your business aspirations. Our approach to teaching is student-led. You will be taught in group sizes that promote a supportive learning relationship with your lecturers, in small workshops - essential for student success – with each student able to access their personal tutor. Our lecturers are engaging academics who combine their passion for business, wealth of industry knowledge and professional business links, to benefit your learning both in and outside of the classroom environment.

Careers and Employability:

Employability is at the heart of everything we do at the Business School. Our employability team will provide you with one-to-one advice on how to successfully engage with business contacts from major UK recruiters such as IBM, Lloyds of London and Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC), who you will meet through events, workshops and visits to organisations, enabling you to see first-hand how business operates in the real world. We run events throughout the year including guest speakers, panel discussions, masterclasses and competitions. The support you’ll receive, led and informed by employer practice, will maximise your ability to submit successful job applications, secure internships and hone your interview skills.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI):

As some courses at the Business School are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), students on these particular courses can gain automatic free membership for the duration of their course and for one year after completion.

Benefits include access to ManagementDirect; the UK’s largest management library along with access to the online resource portal including e-journals, company and industry reports as well as advice from over 300 hiring managers through The Career Development Centre.

You’ll get access to current job listings via the JobSearch database and a wealth of videos, tutorials and articles to develop your career and business skills. The online CMI mentoring community comprises over 120,000 members where you can be matched according to the skills, experience and industry of interest as well as finding out about CMI networking events that you can take part in.

On successful completion of one of our CMI accredited courses, you’ll also receive a qualification from the CMI in addition to your degree.

Supportive Environment:

We aim to support more students from across a variety of backgrounds than ever before to achieve their career ambitions, which is why we offer a range of scholarships and bursaries.

All students are given the opportunity to take full advantage of our facilities and services. The Disability Support Service is dedicated to managing any requirements you may have during your studies, including temporary assistance due to injury or illness.

Sports Facilities:

There are plenty of opportunities to get up and get fit at all of our campuses, if you want to exercise your body as well as your mind. Popular activities include Zumba, football, netball, rugby and tennis.
