Geneseo offers a rigorous Biology program with renowned professors, a wide range of course offerings and countless opportunities for research. The biology department seeks to provide students with a broad background in biological sciences that can be used as a foundation for a variety of careers.
You may also be interested to know that the Departments of Biology and Chemistry at Geneseo offer a B.S. degree program in Biochemistry. Extensive laboratory experience, making use of modern instrumentation in both the Biology and Chemistry Departments, is an integral part of the program. Graduates will be well prepared for employment in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and for graduate school.

Founded in 1871 as a school for teachers, Geneseo has evolved into one of the premier public liberal arts colleges in the country.
