Bachelor of Christian Ministries

Program Objectives

This degree seeks to:

• Provide a solid biblical foundation for ministry;
• Provide a theological foundation for ministry with a Charismatic distinctive;
• Provide a basic understanding of the Christian message and how to communicate it;
• Develop basic ministry skills;
• Develop a compassion for ministry to hurting and lost humanity; and
• Gain an understanding and appreciation for the Church and its ministries.

Learning Outcomes

In addition to achieving success with the Undergraduate Core Curriculum Requirements learning outcomes, upon completing this degree, students will be able to:

• Evidence a biblical and theological knowledge and understanding of the patterns and function of ministry;
• Articulate a biblical philosophy of ministry that evidences a Charismatic dimension;
• Evidence a solid knowledge of Scripture and the proper use of hermeneutics;
• Evidence the ability to communicate the gospel and spiritual equipping messages in both oral and written form; and
• Demonstrate the basic functional skills for successful ministry.

The King’s University (TKU) is an accredited, Spirit-empowered, evangelical university with branch campuses and teaching sites in multiple U.S. cities. TKU offers students a complete educational experience by combining higher education with practical ministry experience within dynamic local churches. This complete educational experience prepares and equips students to serve in the local church, the marketplace and around the world.

Dr. Jack Hayford, Founder and Chancellor of The King’s University, and Pastor Robert Morris, founding Senior Pastor of Gateway Church, have cultivated a unique partnership, in that Dr. Hayford serves as an apostolic elder of Gateway Church, and Pastor Robert currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The King’s University. Dr. Hayford and Pastor Robert share the value of excellence and professionalism in their vision to train men and women for the work of the Kingdom wherever God gives them influence. This shared vision led to the creation of a TKU campus at Gateway Church.

With more than 700 students university-wide, and 270 students at the Southlake campus in DFW, TKU’s dynamic learning environment and Spirit-empowered community enable its students to learn, develop skills and talents, and grow in relationships with fellow students, faculty and with the Lord.
