The Master of Tourism Administration degree program targets students who are currently employed or who wish to obtain positions leading to new careers or advancement in the tourism, hospitality, event, and sport industries. The location of Washington, D.C. adds value to students’ learning experience since the nation’s capital is also home to many tourism, hospitality, sport, event and meeting businesses and organizations with immense opportunities for practical experience, professional networking, and career development.

The MTA is an internationally oriented degree that prepares students for management positions in tourism, hospitality, sport, event and meeting management careers. It offers three concentrations – Event and Meeting Management, Sport Management, and Sustainable Destination Management. An individualized concentration focusing on ecotourism, heritage tourism, or international hotel management can also be arranged. Each field of concentration involves a combination of classroom and field-based learning experiences.

Visit Cuba, Dominica, or another tropical island to study sustainable tourism. Go to the Olympics as a volunteer with other GWSB students to learn about marketing and event planning. Travel to London or Paris to study international business. The choice is yours.
