The Springfield College Student Affairs Administration master's program provides the academic knowledge, and practical experience to best prepare you to excel in the student affairs field.
Our program focuses on developing robust professional leadership skills for the 21st century and beyond, including advising, management, counselling, and supervision. You will be prepared to engage, educate, and improve the lives of college students.
We commit to excellence grounded in the institutional mission of educating the whole student in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others. Springfield College has a small campus's intimacy, but with the access to gain experience at larger institutions and community colleges in the nearby vicinity.
The seminar-style courses allow you to individualize course assignments and link course concepts to your unique career goals. We view learning as an ongoing practice and professional development, not past performance, so we continuously invite students to be authentic and engage in honest, open dialogue about real-world issues that student affairs practitioners face.
Graduates of this program have gone on to work in a wide range of student affairs functional areas, including residence life, student activities, multicultural affairs, career services, recreation and wellness, and academic advising, and at every type of institution throughout the United States and beyond.
Fieldwork is an essential component of the Student Affairs Administration program. You will complete a minimum of two different three-credit fieldwork experiences based on your own career goals. As part of your fieldwork, you will be supervised by an experienced professional in the field and attend seminar sessions throughout the semester taught by a student affairs administration faculty member.
