There is an increasing need for modern conservation management for trained graduate ecologists with academic knowledge grounded in-field experience and competent species identification skills.
The BSc (Hons) in Ecology and Conservation Management degree programme employs a scientific approach to natural resource management, conservation, and sustainability and has an overall theme of applied ecological science.
The course seeks to encourage independent thought and analysis with students undertaking investigative-style projects. You will develop the ecological expertise to enable you to solve conservation problems in the field, be able to design management plans, and to effectively implement them.

Assessment will be both formative and summative throughout the programme. Formative assessments will allow for skill development and the potential for you to develop both research and study skills as well as technical and subject-specific knowledge.
There is a wide range of summative assessment used during the course including written assignments, project-based reports, practically based portfolios, presentations, lab reports, open and closed examinations.
