Enhance your understanding of the world of business with our popular BA (Hons) Business Administration degree. This course provides you with a sound background in all areas of the world of business.
Every business wants to be successful, and future employers will benefit from your commercial acumen, organizational nous, and practical management skills. So give your job prospects a boost, and sign up to enhance your profile as a business person.
The course covers the following areas:
We place particular emphasis on research and analysis through project work with external organizations. In addition, a 'learning contract' module enables you to develop an area of research of your choice, and produce a dissertation about it. You will also have opportunities to develop your skills in information management, prioritizing, and interpersonal relationships.
The course is assessed by means of 50% examinations and 50% coursework. Continuous assessment processes mean that individual and group assignments count towards your final grade, as do projects and formal written exams.
In addition to attending timetabled classes, you should expect to spend between 15 and 20 hours per week outside College hours on directed reading and be working on assignments.
Following the degree, you may progress to postgraduate study.
This course opens the door to a variety of interesting jobs, in a range of industries. You could work in the private or public sectors, specializing in administration, management, personnel, marketing or finance. You may choose to set up your own business or join a graduate trainee scheme with a national employer. Our graduates have gone on to do all of these things - and more, besides.
Applicants require a Foundation Degree or HND in Business and Management, or similar, or completion of the first two years of a relevant Honours degree. You also need to have a minimum of a Grade C in GCSE English.
Mature students who do not meet these formal entry requirements are welcome to apply if they can evidence their interest in the field of study.
