The Respiratory Care Track in the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Allied Health program combines classroom theory with practical, hands-on experience, preparing students to become dedicated healthcare teams that treat patients with cardiopulmonary (heart & lung) disorders.
The Respiratory Care program at Seattle Central College's Health Education Center trains students to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a complex and technically demanding environment. We prepare learners for success in respiratory care by teaching competence, confidence, and professionalism. In so doing, we promote excellence at the bedside and in the profession as a whole.

Program Goals
To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behaviour) learning domains of respiratory care practise as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).
To prepare leaders for the field of respiratory care by including curricular content that includes objectives related to the acquisition of skills in one or more of the following: management, education, research, and advanced clinical practice (which may include an area of clinical specialization).
