Program Description

You love a challenge. You are a hard worker. You strive to learn more every day. You enjoy being part of a team to find solutions and empower others to do the same. You feel empathy and gain satisfaction from helping those in need. If these are qualities you appreciate about yourself, consider the fact that these are also qualities found in successful healthcare professionals. You have found your calling. Owens School of Nursing and Health Professions has an established reputation of educating healthcare professionals who work in Northwest Ohio and beyond. Our approach of interprofessional education results in graduates who are well trained to practice collaboratively and provide patient-centered care to the members of our community.

This program is designed for Licensed Practical Nurses who will take nursing courses from a modified program of study that meets the needs of the LPN enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nurse/Associate Degree Nursing Progression Program, AAS (Owens Code: NRSL). The program prepares graduates for nursing positions in a variety of healthcare settings. The program combines studies at Owens Community College with planned and guided experience in client care in healthcare facilities and community agencies.
