Society faces a number of great challenges and there is a need for more expertise in sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies. This master´s program prepares you to take on key roles within the field of Green Energy Technology as new and emerging technological solutions for energy and resource use are developed and implemented.
The Master in Green Energy Technology gives you a broad introduction to energy technology themes, and the opportunity to build your professional profile within Smart Energy Technology or Materials for Energy Technology. You will work in interdisciplinary groups, both in laboratory work and in projects.
The Smart Energy Technology specialisation is about renewable energy sources (wind power, solar power and hydropower) in energy systems, in addition to microgrids, smart grids, as well as modeling and simulation of such systems.
The Materials for Energy Technology specialisation teaches you about advanced materials and their applications related to future development opportunities in energy efficiency, such as in new buildings, solar cell technology, battery storage and nanomaterials.
Through the master's program, you will acquire knowledge of the contemporary social debate related to sustainable energy technology and innovation, as well as solid academic knowledge of smart energy technologies or materials for energy technology. The study also deals with the circular economy, which is a framework that utilizes resources as effectively as possible, while at the same time achieving financial goals. With limited natural resources it is crucial for the environment that resources are reused and upcycled in new ways.
The program is organized as:
lectures
seminars
workshops
project work
laboratory work
Self-directed learning with guidance
As a student with us, you have close contact with professionals / researchers. Small class sizes mean the chance to interact and learn beside faculty. In addition, we have close cooperation with the business community and major research and development environments in energy technology and sustainable development. The final master's thesis will largely be linked to external actors and organisation based research.
