About the School

The NYU Tandon School of Engineering dates to 1854, the founding date for both the New York University School of Civil Engineering and Architecture and the Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute. Our school was, quite literally, the birthplace of the American Dream; it was our alum James Truslow Adams who coined that phrase in 1931. Just as it was then, Tandon is a place where ambitious students from all walks of life get the solid education they need to launch their careers. A January 2014 merger created a comprehensive school of education and research in engineering and applied sciences as part of a global university, with close connections to engineering programs at NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai. We believe diversity is integral to excellence, and are creating a vibrant, inclusive, and equitable environment for all of our students, faculty and staff. Our mission is to be a world-class engineering school that puts students first and is home to lifelong learning. We will be the place that makes the American dream possible; the home of engaged critical thinkers and makers of the future.

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship Appeal for Returning Undergraduates Any returning undergraduate student whose family has experienced a change in financial circumstance may submit an appeal for additional scholarship. Appeal scholarships are not guaranteed. Once awarded, appeal scholarships generally are not renewable. Visit the Financial Aid website to learn more and to submit an appeal.

ASPIRE Scholarship for Service The ASPIRE (A Scholarship for Service Partnership for Interdisciplinary Research and Education) scholarship assists in educating and training the next generation of cybersecurity experts. The program aims to produce cybersecurity specialists who understand information-security issues from a multidisciplinary perspective. ASPIRE is funded by the Federal Scholarship for Service (SFS), a partnership between the National Science Foundation and the Department of Homeland Security to strengthen the United States’ information safety. The scholarship is administered by the NYU Center for Cybersecurity at Tandon School of Engineering. Approximately 6 scholarships are awarded annually to both undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to studying cybersecurity, either as a major, minor, or in fulfillment of elective requirements, as well as committed to training and working in cybersecurity post-graduation. The scholarship provides 100% NYU tuition for 2 years plus a generous stipend in exchange for 2 years of service in a US government agency working in cybersecurity after graduation. Visit the NYU ASPIRE website for eligibility, deadlines, and application instructions.

Department of Defense Cyber Scholarship Program The purpose of the DoD Cyber Scholarship program is to support the recruitment of new cyber talent within the DoD cyber workforce. The scholarship, funded by the DoD, is administered by the NYU Center for Cybersecurity at Tandon School of Engineering. One to two scholarships may be awarded annually to both NYU undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to studying cybersecurity, either as a major, minor, or in fulfillment of elective requirements, as well as committed to training and working in cybersecurity post-graduation with a DoD agency. The scholarship provides 100% NYU tuition for 2 years plus a generous stipend in exchange for 2 years of service in a DoD agency working in cybersecurity after graduation. Program Description

The MS Management of Technology program (MOT) is a STEM program designed for college graduates and professionals who aim to make a difference in a world in which economic and social advancement is increasingly dependent on the integration of technology and business. This program introduces participants who aspire to become technology managers and leaders in the 21st century to cutting-edge thinking and best practice in technology management and innovation. The MOT program embodies the School of Engineering's academic philosophy of invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship (i2e). Put simply, i2e is about transforming scientific inventions into innovations that lead to significant economic and social impact. NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Department of Technology Management and Innovation is a recognized pioneer and leader in the field of technology management and has offered the MOT program for nearly twenty-five years. Rather than grafting a few technology management courses onto a traditional MBA program, the MOT program provides an innovative and integrated curriculum that is focused on developing professionals who wish to focus their careers on building, managing, or leading technology-driven organizations. The department offers the MOT program in two formats: Full-time / Part-time On-Campus MOT and a purely Online MOT (NYU Tandon Digital Learning). *Courses are offered predominantly in the evenings to accommodate those students who work full-time during the day.
