Program Description

Elementary level teachers provide fundamental life skills to young children. They introduce important concepts for life-long learning such as reading, writing, arithmetic, and science.

The program ends in a semester-long, 15-week student teaching internship. Students in the program will fulfil Florida's requirements to become certified teacher.

Courses are offered mostly in traditional and hybrid formats. Students attend courses just one to two days per week.

Overall employment of kindergarten and elementary school teachers is projected to grow 7 per cent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Rising student enrollment should increase demand for Kindergarten and elementary teachers, but employment growth will vary by region.
