This is a collaborative program between Meridian Community College, Mississippi State University-Meridian, and the University of West Alabama in which students can earn a Bachelor of Applied Science.
The Bachelor's of Applied Science serves the needs of adults who have completed a Career and Technical Program at Meridian Community College and need additional education to advance their careers.
Students will work with a transfer advisor who, along with their college counsellor, will help them develop a sound academic plan, find resources to support academic success, and become familiar with MSU-Meridian's and University of West Alabama campus resources, all while still working toward their Associate Degree.
Students entering or currently enrolled in Meridian Community College's Career and Technical programs can transfer course credit to Mississippi State and the University of West Alabama to obtain their Bachelor of Applied Science degree.
Degree requirements:
Complete at a minimum of 120 credit hours.
Complete the university's general education core requirements (15 credit hours of general education core courses earned as part of the AAS). Students may exercise flexibility in determining the remaining general education core requirements for the applied science degree based on adult learners' specific needs in the workplace.
Earn 30 credit hours at the upper-division level and at least 30 of the 120 credits hours through MSU and UWA.
