The Music Production major offers emphases in Music Producing & Recording and Composing for Visual Media. The Composition Major offers an emphasis in Songwriting.
Musically, this program builds on our existing Associate of Arts degree curriculum, further developing students’ existing skills, augmenting their “toolkit” with new ones, and accelerating their progress along the path to a professional career as a musician, composer or producer.
The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Music degree programs vary based on each emphasis.
Applicants who are ready to apply to L.A.C.M. will need to complete an Admissions Application through DecisionDesk. Applicants will need to request their official high school, GED, or college transcripts from their granting institution and have them sent to L.A.C.M. TOEFL Scores, for International Students, will also need to be sent to L.A.C.M. All applicants will submit a $50 application fee when the application is complete.
Students applying to a Bachelor of Music Degree program may be eligible for Transfer Credit; we do not accept transfer credit for our Associate of Arts and Diploma programs. However, Bachelor of Music applicants may transfer in general education credits. L.A.C.M. will determine the transferability of coursework taken at other institutions and provide transfer credit evaluations for L.A.C.M. students. Students may be eligible to transfer in 100% of their general education requirements into the Bachelor of Music program. For information, regarding our transfer of credit policy, please visit our Transfer Credit page.
