Program Description

The program studies conflict and peace, peacebuilding, sustainable development, socio-economic relationships, human rights, and security.

Peace and Development Studies is your main subject within the program. If you wish to graduate with a double bachelor's degree, you can choose an additional major from either Sociology, Gender studies, Economics, or Political Science. This combination gives you an added advantage when you enter the labor market and also broadens your possibilities for acceptance into a Master’s program. However, you can also combine Peace and Development Studies with an array of courses from all other areas, as long as they are relevant to our subject area.

All classes within Peace and Development Studies are taught in English, this familiarizes you with an international working environment. However, in order to complete their degree, students will choose from a variety of other areas which might feature classes taught in Swedish. The program includes one semester where you can choose to do an internship or study abroad.

During your studies, you are invited to participate in different activities related to your future working life, such as visits to different organizations and seminars with visiting practitioners.
