BSc Sport & Exercise Science

A Sport and Exercise Sciences degree provides you with the undergraduate knowledge and skills required to become an accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist.

The course blends the three areas of sport and exercises sciences; psychology, physiology, and biomechanics, in addition to research and professional placements. You will also study interdisciplinary sport science modules to add to your programme to draw together the three-sport science disciplines.

At Level 4 , you will undertake a full-time work placement, which will incorporate skills gained throughout your first academic year. At Level 5 , you may select between a six-week full-time placement or volunteering, both of which are 20-credit modules to develop experience and employability.

Teaching staff on the course are significantly involved in research, which ensures that many modules are research-informed and some are research-led. There are opportunities for you to complete a research project or dissertation at level 6 , which may align with staff research interests and opportunities to present work externally. Further, Trinity Performance is a sport and exercise science enterprise run by the department offering coach education, consultancy and fitness assessments where students can get involved to offer them first-hand experience of sport and exercise science.
