Program Description

International Class / 3rd year of DN MADE

Our 3 International DN MADE programs welcome French and international students of various nationalities who wish to complete a French undergraduate degree, through the third and final year of Bachelor level studies.

Its purpose is also to welcome students from our partner schools for an academic exchange semester. Our three DN MADE programs lead to the obtention of the DN MADE, National Diploma in Fine Arts, Crafts and Design which is a state-controlled degree and leads to the award of a bachelor degree. After the DN MADE it is possible to opt for further studies or to enter the world of work.

Students from all over the world who have completed a minimum of two years in spatial, interior, product, interaction design or UI/UX design are eligible to apply.

L’École de design Nantes Atlantique was awarded the "Bienvenue en France" label with the maximum score of three stars by Campus France. This label shows the institution’s commitment and quality in welcoming international students.

Students are organized into three programs, depending on their previous studies:

3rd year International Class / DN MADE Digital Media Design

The Digital Media Design program, through a conception centered on users, offers services in digital interactive media (web, interactive terminals, video, animation, infography). The completion of this 3rd year program leads to the obtention of DN MADE, Major in Digital Design, Interface Design and Digital Media Specialty with a Minor in Graphic Design.

3rd year International Class / DN MADE Industrial Products

This approach is centered on the industrial dimension of design. From the industrial expertise, the design of products made to serve the users, their environment and their expectations. The completion of this 3rd year program leads to the obtention of DN MADE, Major in Object Design, Industrial Product Design Specialty with a Minor Materials

3rd year International Class / DN MADE Retail & Interior Design

This program focuses on all perennial spaces (commercial architecture, interior architecture, public space, etc.) and temporary spaces (scenography, events, etc.) using a user-centered approach. The completion of this 3rd year program leads to the obtention of DN MADE, Major in Space Design, Residential architecture and retail specialty, with a Minor Object.

3dr International Class / DN MADE Circular Fashion Design

This program offers students the chance to design and produce textiles, soft materials, textures, patterns and colours related to all areas of design: clothing and accessories, living spaces, objects, furniture, transport, etc. with a future-oriented focus on eco-design.

The completion of this program leads to a DN MADE (Bachelor’s degree) in Fashion, with a major in Design and Innovation and a minor in Materials.

About the School

Founded in 1988 and recognized by the State, the school is a non-profit organization. L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is an active member of various academic networks and professional organizations: Conférence des Grandes Écoles (top-tier French higher education institutions), Campus France and was awarder the "Bienvenue en France" label by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Design Expertise by L’École de design

Our main duty is to teach design either via a standard curriculum work-based programs or via continuing education, with around 1760 students in September 2022. As a professional school, L’École de design has built a pedagogical program based upon close ties with companies to facilitate the professional integration of our alumni. The research activity within our Design Labs dedicated to innovation, ensures the expertise required for a postgraduate degree in design.

L’École de design centers its expertise on socio-economic issues, by combining teaching, experimental research and support with innovation, within its Design Labs which develop design research programs within dedicated chairs.

We also carry out a mission of services to companies and promotion of design: internships, apprenticeship contracts, prospective studies, collaborative projects, organization of thematic events, monitoring and advice. For many years, our students have been awarded prizes in prestigious competitions. The successful careers pursued by our graduates are a good proof of the quality of our teaching methods.
