The Master of Health Administration program is designed to prepare and develop leaders for a rapidly changing world.

The program was once again ranked in the top 10 (#9) of graduate programs in health administration per the 2019 U.S. News & World Report.

This accelerated program provides a rigorous and comprehensive academic experience with a career-building administrative residency in top organizations across the country.

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is a graduate professional degree that prepares future healthcare executives for management and leadership positions dedicated to improving health and health services delivery across all sectors. The program is a full graduate member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

The program emphasizes the values and competencies required to understand the equity and outcomes of care delivery, address social determinants, and face the challenges of health disparities in multiple settings. The curriculum stresses innovation and strategic problem-solving by applying analytical, technical, and management skills required to improve the quality, cost-effectiveness, and integration of health and health care organizations and systems.

The interdisciplinary curriculum brings our early-career students together with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals creating a collaborative learning environment.

  • Program faculty, student advisors and mentors are accomplished professionals, with the majority having years of health care management experience.
  • A paid, full-time, 11-month administrative residency where students become members of an organization's executive management team and work on important assignments, make meaningful contributions and develop and enhance valuable competencies related to health and health care administration.
  • A scholarship is available to students during their administrative residency worth 75% of annual tuition.
  • Residency organizations across the country representing important segments of the U.S. health care system include payers, providers, and consulting organizations.
