The music department at Great Lakes Christian College seeks to encourage the student to cultivate musical skills and talent. Students are given opportunities to understand, appreciate, and utilize a variety of musical forms in several different contexts—worship, public performance, and for private enjoyment.
The Music Major Program is designed to equip students in music and worship ministry areas for the local church, to give them experience in performance, to help them gain expertise in their primary instrument (voice, piano, or guitar), and to provide a foundation for further music study.
Being small doesn’t necessarily mean that a college is safe or Christian. Being safe doesn’t mean it is small or Christian. Being Christian doesn’t mean it is small or safe.
But we have confidence in this: being Small, Safe, and Christian makes Great Lakes Christian College a special place.
It’s a recipe for success.
Because of the uniqueness of Great Lakes Christian College, we have continued to serve our students in the ways that we have always served them.
We must be doing something right. We started our Fall 2020 semester with 171 students, a seven percent increase over last year’s attendance. Even with this increase, our student-to-faculty ratio is a remarkably low 19:1.
