Media Technology

Media Technology is technology and methods for supporting human communication over distances in time and space. Today’s rich media environment provides unique opportunities for creative and effective communication of an organization’s goals or between a company and its customers.

Contents of the study

A Master of Science or a Master of Technology in media technology will provide you with the needed knowledge and theoretical foundations to express your creativity in new and innovative forms. With these qualifications, you will be an important resource for any business or organization that employs digital media.

The Laboratories

  • All students have access to up-to-date media and research laboratories for working with images, sound, and video.
  • The Norwegian Color Research Laboratory, consisting of professors, scientists, and research students, provides a rich environment with outstanding international expertise in color imaging.
  • The Media Technology Laboratory's faculty, researchers, and students offer courses and research opportunities in all areas crucial for design and communication using media technology.

Gjøvik University College has approximately 2400 students and 270 employees.

Gjøvik University college is a Norwegian university college with an international perspective. 24 countries are represented among our staff the Autumn 2009.

GUC was established as a result of the reorganisation of Norwegian higher education in 1994.

The study programmes at Gjøvik University College are divided among 3 faculties with 14 basic educations on bachelor level and 3 master programmes. The university college offers study programmes in the subject areas health, care, technology and media. In addition, several continuing educations are offered. Several of the study programmes at Gjøvik University College (GUC) are the only ones of its kind in Norway. About 2400 students are studying at the university college at the moment. With a united campus you have everything you need at the same locality: lecture room, computer laboratories, library, reading room and canteen
