The hands-on Health Sciences major prepares you for many careers, and pre-professional paths including medicine, physician assistant, physical therapy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and pharmacy. Professors will work with you to prepare for graduate school admission requirements or direct entry into a career.

Join the Health Sciences Club to organize visits to hospitals and presentations from graduate program directors and healthcare professionals. Work with the Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning staff on campus as they assist the 24 varsity athletic teams.

If you have an interest in healthcare or wellness and are looking for a high-paying job in a growing field, a degree in Health Sciences may be perfect for you. Your degree prepares you for a wide range of careers in medicine and allied health fields, management, research, science writing and healthcare advocacy. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2018, 11 of 20 of the fastest growing careers are in the healthcare field.

About the School

Franklin Pierce is a private, non-profit, regionally accredited University where every student has the opportunity to discover their passion and greatest potential.

Frank S. DiPietro, who founded the college in 1962 and served as Pierce’s first president, maintained the perspective that “only the small college can provide the intimate relationships between those who learn and those who teach.” More than five decades later, the University remains committed to this vision. With an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and a sense of place, the community of educators at Pierce prepares every graduate for life on the other side of a degree through a combination of personalized teaching, and experiential and applied learning, including research, internships, and co-ops.

Through its campuses in Rindge, New Hampshire and Goodyear, Arizona, as well as centers across New Hampshire in Manchester, and Lebanon, Franklin Pierce provides flexible learning options that serve a wide range of students. Whether on-campus or online, students can follow a traditional undergraduate track to an associate or bachelor’s degree or pursue an advanced master’s or doctoral degree.
