Program Description

The Aeronautical, Space and Defense business is, by nature, complex, innovative with high added value. Placed at the heart of political, economic, environmental, and technological issues, in France, in Europe, and worldwide, it requires a prospective vision from decision-makers. It is based on specific industrial processes, characterized by long, costly, and risky cycles (R & D, production, maintenance & support).

Aerospace programs , either in civil or defense, are facing challenging concerns: competitiveness and high technologies development, global supply chain approaches, Government budget reduction, and internationalization of resources. The development and industrialization of new programs involve the collaboration of companies from many countries and cultures, and several thousands of engineers work in all regions around the world through IT platforms and tools.

In this context, project management in the aerospace environment requires mastering a wide scope of knowledge, know-how, and expertise adapted to the specific needs and issues of this challenging worldwide business.

To answer these concerns, ISAE, Ecole de l’Air, and ENAC gather their expertise to develop the Aerospace Project Management (APM) specialized master .

The professionally-oriented APM Specialized Master provides students with an overview of the military or civil international Aerospace industry and gives up-to-date skills, cutting-edge knowledge, and necessary competencies for successfully leading Project or Program teams in the global aerospace and defense industry.

With an emphasis on operations, the program is intended for those beginning their career in the management of projects or for professionals aiming at enhancing their competencies for fast career evolution. The program of the SM APM is taught, by experts or lecturers with extensive aerospace project experience, with a combination of formal presentations, in-class exercises, or study cases. The objectives of this practical approach are to provide students with current techniques and tools in project management taking into account industrial, economical or legal specificities of the Aerospace business.

About the School

Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, ENAC

ENAC was founded in 1949 in Paris-Orly and moved to Toulouse in 1968.

It merged with the SEFA (Service d’Exploitation de la Formation Aéronautique) on January 1, 2011. The «Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile» (ENAC) is a unique example: it is the only aviation-oriented university in France and in Europe offering a wide and complete panel of aeronautics-oriented training programs and activities, serving the aeronautical world, particularly the air transport sector.

The ENAC university is made up of:

  • 2,000 students in 25 various training courses: engineer, master, Ph.D., air transport pilot, air traffic controller, etc.,
  • 7,500 trainees each year in 400 continuing education programs or advanced training courses,
  • 10 research labs,
  • International activities: ENAC welcomes hundreds of international students and trainees from the 5 continents each year,
  • An education team has an exceptional amount of professional skills and know-how,
  • High-level training material associated with its multidisciplinary activities: ATC simulators, flight simulators, 130 aircraft, laboratories for electronics, telecommunications, GNSS, UAVs, data processing, aerodynamics, languages, etc.

Through all these activities, the ENAC university is committed to meeting the requirements of the aeronautical field, in which both private and public actors are involved, either in France or abroad.

In more than 60 years, with 20,000 alumni, ENAC has acquired recognition, in France and abroad, of all the partners belonging to the wide range of its activities.

Today, thanks to the acknowledged skills of its teachers, searchers, students, trainees, and its whole staff, the ENAC university is looking to strengthen its influence throughout the world, being always committed in its field of excellence: aeronautics.
