If you seek the knowledge and ability to positively influence higher education development, our Master's Degree in Education with a Higher Education Leadership Concentration can help you achieve success. Careers in education leadership are rapidly growing and stand to increase in the coming years. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment of postsecondary education administrators will grow by 9% percent from 2014-2024. 1

Professional Responsibilities Earning your Master of Science in Education degree can prepare you to teach in a variety of non-certificated higher education areas or in higher education administration or related positions. Your professional responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and managing all aspects of enrollment , record keeping, transcripts, student handbook, campus catalog(s), calendars, schedules, software system functionality and any other academic operating tools.
  • Facilitating admissions, career development, and counseling services. Organizing meetings to review and direct school policies, testing procedures, and ensures compliance with state laws and rules. Chairing and participating in committees of a college.
  • Designing, developing and delivering programs for college and university presidents and other senior-level campus leaders. Organizing periodic focus groups and roundtables of campus leaders, association representatives, foundation staff and higher education scholars to identify emerging trends and issues that affect institutional governance, management, and effectiveness.
  • Providing leadership and strategic direction for a college, overseeing critical policy and advocacy efforts. Responsible for creating a vision for day-to-day operations, working with the executive board on fiscal efforts, and promoting a college’s reputation on a local, state and national level.
