Danville Area Community College strives to provide a wide range of choices for students who ultimately wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Partnerships and agreements with four-year universities in the region and online allow students to complete two years of course work at DACC and then transfer those credits towards a bachelor’s degree at a partner institution. As college costs soar across the country, it’s comforting to know that an affordable, high-quality college education is available in the local community.
For the student interested in completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the DACC to EIU BSN program saves time and money. You have to go through the following steps: Attend DACC for all of the required General Education courses and the DACC Nursing Program courses; Submit a provisional application to enrol in the RN to BSN program at EIU while in the DACC Nursing Program, taking classes from both schools simultaneously; Graduate from DACC and pass the NCLEX national licensure exam.; Finish one year of online coursework needed to earn a Bachelor’s in Nursing from EIU.
In what is commonly known as 3 + 1 programs, participants complete the first three years of classes at DACC and then complete the final year’s credits online from the transfer institution. DACC has partnerships for specific programs with two senior institutions, Franklin University and Eastern Illinois University (EIU). DACC has established a “Bachelor’s Lounge” computer lab on campus for fourth-year students who need technology access for their coursework.
Danville Area Community College (DACC) is committed to providing quality, innovative, and accessible learning experiences that meet our diverse communities' lifelong academic, cultural, and economic needs and the world we share.
