Program Description

In the current context of global changes, CESI adopts an eco-responsible attitude in a program raising awareness of climate disruption and energy and digital transitions: sustainable construction, BIM and digital modeling, life cycle analysis and impact study, climate Olympics , Lean construction... To give meaning to their profession and become an actor in these new challenges, the CESI engineer is prepared for professions in the design, construction, management and maintenance of transport and hydraulic, in a low carbon world. A high-level scientific and technical professional, he is also equipped with digital knowledge to meet the needs of the construction sector and the demands of society. At the end of this course, the student will have all the keys in hand to carry out and manage construction projects in a very competitive environment in France or abroad.

Possible Options

The possible options in major industry and services are divided into 4 sub-families: - Digital and ecological transitions (BIM Manager or Rehabilitation of building structures options) - Construction project management (Lean construction options, design project management and execution or Expertise Path) - Innovation and entrepreneurship (Entrepreneurship or Innovation Options) - Infrastructure and Railway Works (Grand Paris Options - Underground Works, Infrastructure and Civil Engineering)

Five years to prepare you for the profession of engineer. In the preparatory cycle, you start with a year common to the four areas of CESI and gradually you move towards choosing your major in the 3rd year. In a general engineering major in civil engineering, you are able to provide innovative solutions to the problems encountered. To specialize and stand out, opt for a 5th year option. Accredited by the Commission for Engineering Qualifications (CTI), this Program benefits from international recognition.

Corporate Missions

Structural calculation Study and validation of materials Renovation of works Modification of a rainwater collection network Assistance with project management or project management Work monitoring

What he will be able to do in business

  • In the preparatory cycle, the student will carry out missions traditionally entrusted to a senior technician: production of calculation notes, design and development of structural elements, implementation of construction techniques, etc. In the engineering cycle, the student progresses from the role of technician to that of engineer: Confirmed technician at the end of the 1st year: he masters the technical aspects of his missions and knows how to apply them independently
  • Assistant engineer at the end of the 2nd year: he can deal with problems requiring new solutions, and supervise teams in the field
  • Junior engineer at the end of the cycle: he is autonomous in dealing with entire subjects, integrating technical, economic, organizational and human dimensions.

The Evaluation System

In the preparatory cycle as in the engineering cycle, the evaluation system is based on continuous monitoring. The lessons are distributed in different Teaching Units; each unit corresponds to a certain number of ECTS credits. One year corresponds to 60 credits. Students must have validated all their teaching units and obtained their ECTS credits to move on to the next year.

The conditions for obtaining the diploma are:

  • Validate all the Teaching Units, therefore having acquired 300 credits over the five years of training
  • Obtain a B2 level certification in English
  • Carry out mobility abroad for a period of 20 weeks

The CESI engineering course is a program involving a 2-year preparatory cycle followed by a 3-year course of study on campus which leads to an engineering diploma (level 7 Master).
