BA (Hons) in Contemporary Art & Design Practice

Calderdale College is in the heart of a thriving and vibrant creative community. This one-year top-up degree programme will be embedded in the creative scene in Calderdale whilst extending and applying specialist knowledge in a range of art and design practices.

The course aims to first and foremost deliver a higher vocational education course that prepares the learner for employment within your chosen discipline and industry.

The delivery of this art and design qualification allows graduates to emerge with a degree award that develops their skills and knowledge.

Calderdale College is the largest provider of further education (post-16) courses and work-based learning (Apprenticeships) and the sole provider of higher education courses in Calderdale.

Our Motivate Centre is the central hub for Motor Vehicle and Engineering students allowing working on real care. In contrast, our Brickwork Workshop gives students the ability to work on real projects.

Our £8m Inspire Centre is home to a multi-use sports hall, 3G pitch, rock climbing wall fitness suite, full-sized grass pitch and Dance Studio.

For our Catering & Hospitality students, Cuisine 1893 is the perfect place to learn new techniques and work with professional kitchen equipment.

The £1.7 million DigiHub, Creative & Media Studios features Mac Suites, a Green Screen Room, Photography Studio, Cinema & Exhibition Room, Computer Lab and a Recording Studio.
