Accelerate your high-tech career and become an expert in data communication.
Bryant’s Master of Science in Data Science program is applied with a foundation in business and will help train the next generation of data scientists to work in various fields.
Our program leverages faculty expertise across statistics, data science, natural language processing, large-scale data analytics, and more. Students will gain broad foundational skills as well as develop specialized competencies tailored to specific career paths.
Students in the program will have the opportunity to work with real-world projects from our corporate partners in various courses and capstone projects at the end of the program. These tangible, hands-on projects will be greatly beneficial in practicing end-to-end data science in real-world scenarios.
Upon graduation, students will be proficient programmers in Python, R, SQL/NoSQL, Spark, and data visualization software (Tableau and PowerBI). They will develop an understanding of deep learning models and their implementation through multiple platforms such as Keras and Pytorch. Students will also have experience with an evolving array of big data management tools like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Databricks.
The MSDS program is a full-time, in-person cohort program and will run over the fall, spring, and summer sessions. Students will complete eight required data science courses and choose a three-course specialization or a general track that tailors electives to individual personal and professional needs.
Data scientist currently ranks as the No. 3 top job in America by Glassdoor, and graduates will be prepared to take advantage of the high demand for skilled data workers to land a new position or advance their careers.
In addition to the application form, you will need to submit a statement of objectives, a current resume, a letter of recommendation, official transcripts from all colleges/universities you have attended, and your application fee (waived for Bryant alumni).
An international applicant is defined as any person that requires a student visa to study in the United States. International applicants are eligible to apply to any graduate program, provided they have successfully completed the equivalent of a United States bachelor’s degree and have the appropriate diplomas and/or satisfactory results on transcripts or leaving examinations from the country in which the degree was earned. International applicants must complete all program-specific application requirements as well as all additional international application requirements outlined below.
English Proficiency
All applicants whose primary language is not English (or for whom English is not one of their primary languages) are required to submit proof of satisfactory English proficiency. Exceptions will be made if the applicant completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at a regionally accredited institution within the U.S., or if the language of instruction for an earned undergraduate or graduate degree was entirely in English. At this time, the only acceptable forms of proof of English proficiency are the TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo English Test, with minimum score requirements listed below.
An official score report must be sent directly from the examination organization to the Graduate Programs Office at Bryant University (TOEFL School Code: 3095).
