Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Architecture is a 4-year pre-professional undergraduate degree that leads to the BAC's accelerated 2-Year Master of Architecture. Our innovative approach to education integrates ongoing, real-world design practice with traditional classroom learning.

Integrated building systems and technology courses investigate how buildings perform. History and theory courses place current work into dialogue with other times and places. Design studios build students' capacity to integrate ideas and envision new conditions supported by drawing and making courses. Media courses harness the power of digital and physical making, offering a visual language to communicate ideas. Liberal education employs the arts, humanities, and sciences to explore our place in the world. All students receive guidance in pursuit of concurrent practice experience in design firms, community projects, research, and independent projects.

About the School

The Boston Architectural College is the largest independent college of spatial design in New England. Architecture and design are all we do, so the people who come to study, teach, and work here are crazy about the design.

We've been around for 130 years.

The Boston Architectural College began as a professional club in 1889. In 1971, we became the first accredited architecture program with a work component in the US. Since then, we have introduced programs in interior architecture, landscape architecture, and design studies.

One of the biggest reasons Boston Architectural College students are drawn to architecture and design is that they are naturally creative and constructive. Boston Architectural College students are always drawing, building, and tinkering. Whether digital or physical, you will be imagining things and bringing your ideas to life.
