The Master of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education facilitates your professional development as a future administrator, leader, or staff member at a college, university, or community college. Choose one of three program tracks to best support your career goals:
Student success
Leadership and organization
Law and finance
Your coursework will address a range of practice-focused topics, including the history of higher education in the U.S.; organizational characteristics of colleges and universities; important laws and policies of administrative practice in higher education; how colleges and universities are funded; how to work with diverse stakeholders in contemporary higher education successfully; and how to collect and use data to improve decision-making. Most courses are offered in a hybrid format, with 50 per cent of the content delivered face-to-face (weekday evenings) and 50 per cent through independent or technology-supported learning experiences and fieldwork.
This program does not lead to teacher certification.
You may be eligible to add an online graduate certificate in Advanced Analytics in Higher Education to this degree program. Contact us for more information about this option.
This degree program is designed to advance your career as a:
Administrative leader in higher education
Student services staff, which includes admissions, academic advising, financial aid, and retention initiatives
Student life and student affairs staff leader, which includes residential life, student activities, athletics, and conduct
And other roles that require a foundation in organizational leadership and administrative functions.

Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College faculty create knowledge by drawing from a wide range of academic disciplines to gain insight into important questions about the process of learning, the practice of teaching, and the effects of education policy.
Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College mobilizes people through bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs, through non-degree professional development programs, and socially embedded, multilateral community engagement.
Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College takes action by bringing people and ideas together to increase individual educators' capabilities and improve education systems' performance.
Principled Innovation is the core value that inspires all activities at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College: our academic programs; our strategic initiatives; how we teach and learn, and how we engage with one another and with the communities we serve.
At Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, we want to push conversation and action about education beyond normal. In this blog, I and others affiliated with MLFTC share some of what we are doing and why we are doing it. We reflect on what we have learned and what continues to challenge us.
