Family Nurse Practitioner Certificates require completion of 20-29 semester credit hours. Students who have taken Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Health Assessment, and Advanced Nursing Pharmacotherapeutics within the past three years are not required to repeat those nine hours of coursework.

Although not totally online, 7 of these hours are offered online with the remainder 22 hours of clinical courses offered in a web-enhanced format requiring some class time on the Tyler campus. Not eligible for financial aid.

Close working relationships with schools and agencies in the East Texas region provide numerous opportunities for faculty and students to engage in service and research and to find quality placements in internships and practical.
