Our department is one of three departments and programs belonging to Pitt’s School of Computing and Information. Our Oakland campus is home to over 26,000 students.
The University of Pittsburgh is located in the Oakland cultural section of the city of Pittsburgh. Pitt is ranked 13th among all public, and 59th among all universities in the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education rankings. Symbolic of the University is the 42-story Gothic structure called the Cathedral of Learning, which is the second tallest academic structure in the world and features unique nationality rooms which pay tribute to the heritage of Western Pennsylvania.
