The German-French Master in Viticulture and Oenology forms the new generation of European top executives in the wine industry. Professionals who know the current problems of the wine sector: climate change, digitization, changing consumption habits.
The course is completed at the Faculty of Marketing and Agricultural Sciences at the Université Haute-Alsace in Colmar and at the Weincampus Neustadt (HWG Ludwigshafen). Graduates of the Viticulture and Oenology master's course receive both the German and the French master's degree. The students qualify through the cultural and language skills acquired during their studies.
It is a dual course of study with 3 practical phases in France, Germany, and in a country of your choice. This gives you solid professional experience and the opportunity to build an international network.
The training lasts two years. The courses take place partly in Colmar and partly in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. The course includes a lot of exciting study content on the subject of viticulture and oenology, from the history and culture of the vine and wine, to molecular biology, microbiology and wine analysis, consumer research, sustainable corporate management, ecology, etc. The training thus offers many career prospects.
The Franco-German master's degree in viticulture and oenology was founded to promote cooperation in the areas of viticulture and oenology and to meet the growing needs of the sector. For this reason, the master’s degree is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the Interreg-V Upper Rhine program. This cross-border cooperation program is part of the European Union's cohesion policy.
The University of Haute-Alsace (UHA) is structured to ensure a wide reach and become a real engine at society's heart. Three major poles make up its organization: training, research, management, and services. At the head of the University, the presidency implements an established policy in conjunction with the teams.
The University of Haute-Alsace has developed based on a solid partnership with socio-economic players in its territory: the Mulhouse model. Thanks to more than 1,500 professional contractors, the UHA is constantly innovating to anticipate developments in the knowledge economy. At The University of Haute-Alsace, nearly 11% of students take apprenticeship training, while almost 5% are continuing education.
The University of Haute-Alsace offers a large number of professional training courses. Among them, DUTs (Technical University Degree), professional licenses, and masters.
