Beschreibung des Programms

This joint plan has been designed by the Universidad de Murcia to enable students to obtain both degrees, achieving training in i) initiation of research in order to enter a PhD program later, ii) teacher training and iii) professional development.

Obtaining both Master's degrees in Advanced Mathematics (MMA) and the Master's Degree in Teacher Training, Mathematics specialty (MFP) is achieved by enrolling at least the 52 credits of the MFP indicated in Annex I of the regulations and 36 credits of the MMA, which will correspond to all the compulsory credits of one of the five specialties (that is, the 18 credits of the TFM and the 18 credits of the subjects of the specialty), or to 18 credits of the TFM and 18 credits of subjects, so that at least the subjects of a specialty used in the first table of recognitions in Annex II of the regulations are passed. The rest of the subjects of each master will be automatically recognized according to the recognition tables that appear in Annex II. Students who choose the second alternative in MMA, that is, 18 credits from the TFM and 18 credits from subjects of different specialties, must enroll at least 18 credits that do not include Algebraic Geometry, Applied Mathematical Analysis (II), Geometric Analysis , Location, distribution and transport and Bayesian Statistics, as these are the subjects recognized by the MFP (see the second table in Annex II, section "No specialty").

Although this joint itinerary is designed to be completed in one year, students are not required to enroll out of 36 MMA credits in a single course. However, in order to ensure the obtaining of the MFP at the end of the course, they must enroll at least the subjects necessary to recognize the 8 credits of the MFP not completed, as detailed in the previous paragraph.

Likewise, any student who has obtained the MFP in a previous course can potentially take advantage of the advantages of the combined degree, although for this they will have to request the corresponding recognition of credits from the Academic Commission of the MMA and that it grant it.

Students who apply for a scholarship to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports to pay for their master's studies should bear in mind that it is only possible to apply for their maximum amount if they are enrolled in at least 60 credits of a master's degree. Therefore, even if they study simultaneously, they will have to enroll in the full MFP.

Justification

Description of the Master's Degree in Advanced Mathematics

The attractiveness of the master's degree could be justified by the sophistication of the financial markets, the growing importance of the credit markets, the constant processes of innovation in financial products, factors that, among others, highlight the importance of solid training in financial matters.

Description of the University Master's Degree in Teacher Training

The direct reference to the proposed title is the initial training course that the Universidad de Murcia has been teaching for the purposes of issuing the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude (hereinafter CAP) for more than 35 years. The current legal framework had entrusted to the Institute of Education Sciences (hereinafter, ICE) integrated in each university, the pedagogical and didactic training of university students (architects, engineers, graduates, technical architects, technical engineers and graduates in possession of the degree ) who aspired to dedicate themselves to secondary education and established the completion of the two cycles of the CAP as an essential requirement to be eligible for admission to the teaching bodies of the mentioned level, with the exception of degrees that included equivalent training, as well as other cases excepted by law.

It should not be forgotten, however, that another referent immediately prior to the one indicated is the Initial Training Course for Secondary Teachers (FIPES) taught by the School of Teaching of Middle Schools (Delegation of Murcia), and whose study plan was structured in three blocks: educational assumptions, special didactics and practices. The oldest files (according to the files of the ICE of the Universidad de Murcia ) date from the academic year 1963/1964. However, Decree 1678/1969, of July 24, on the creation of the Institutes of Educational Sciences (BOE n. 195 of 8/15/1969), in accordance with the provisions of the General Education Law, created within the state universities the ICEs, entrusting to them among other missions those that the Middle School Teacher Training School had been carrying out, which would later be extinguished.
