Beschreibung des Programms

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is an undergraduate degree program that prepares individuals for a career in dentistry. It is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to diagnose, prevent, and treat oral diseases and disorders.

The BDS course typically spans a period of four to five years, depending on the country and university offering the program. It includes a combination of theoretical coursework, practical training, and clinical experience.

The curriculum of the BDS program covers a wide range of subjects, including dental anatomy, dental histology, oral pathology, oral medicine, dental materials, dental radiology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and public health dentistry.

Students will learn about the structure and function of the teeth, oral tissues, and related structures. They will gain knowledge in the diagnosis and management of various dental conditions, such as dental caries, periodontal disease, oral infections, oral cancer, and malocclusions.

Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills through hands-on training in dental clinics. Under the supervision of experienced faculty, they will learn how to perform dental procedures, such as dental fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, crown and bridge work, denture fabrication, orthodontic treatments, and minor oral surgeries.
