The Department of Mathematics and Computer and Information Science offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science with two concentrations: Computer Science and Information Systems. Graduates obtain jobs in a wide range of areas in computer and information science. Many students complete internships with local employers or with large corporations across the country. Some of our recent graduates have received jobs in software design and development, systems analysis, web development, E-commerce, system and database administration, networking, as well as other computer-related fields.
Computer Science Concentration
The Computer Science concentration focuses on the techniques and mathematical aspects of computing. Our students gain knowledge and experience in computer organization and architecture, programming, data structures and algorithms, and software development.
The Information Systems concentration focuses on the system and business aspects of computing. Our students gain knowledge and experience in programming, data structures, networking and data communications, and the delivery and management of information systems. Many students also declare a business-related minor or complete a dual major in Business Administration.
