Why study Tourism at IQS?

Studying tourism is an exciting experience that will open up a wide range of career opportunities for you. The IQS Undergraduate Program in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a 4-year bachelor's degree (240 ECTS) that prepares future leaders for management roles in the tourism and hospitality sector. The program combines learning competencies to manage and lead companies and developing skills related to hospitality.

Program objectives

The Undergraduate Program in Tourism and Hospitality Management aims to prepare future managers in the tourism and hospitality sector.

By studying tourism and hospitality management at IQS, you will combine learning competencies to manage and lead companies in the tourism and hospitality sector and develop skills related to hospitality, essential for offering customers excellent service.

The program is structured along three main lines:

  • Academic rigor: the curriculum includes solid theoretical and hands-on education that will enable you to launch your career, be prepared to take on new knowledge, and be ready for the ever-changing demands of tourism and hospitality.
  • International dimension: this program embraces the world and emphasizes studying foreign languages, exchanges with international universities, and networking with the global tourism and hospitality industry.
  • Career development: you will begin to launch your career on your very first day on campus through close collaboration between the university and the business world.

More than management

The difference between the IQS Undergraduate Program in Tourism and Hospitality Management and other national and international tourism degrees is its focus on managing and leading tourism and hospitality companies.

By studying tourism and hospitality management at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, you will be prepared to become a future international leader in the sector, which is why you will master the necessary management skills for running a company. For this reason, more than 50% of the credits in the program are related to business management.

In addition, the program complements your education by teaching you skills focused on hospitality and customer relationships.

  • Full English Program and Language Learning IQS provides the opportunity to take some graduate programs and the undergraduate program in Business Administration and Management entirely in English or gradually, in Spanish and English, as well as the opportunity to learn German.
  • Personalized Care and Small Groups Students have personal tutors to guide them in academic, professional, and personal matters. Classes are made up of small groups in all IQS undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • IQS Grants IQS has an extensive program of scholarships and grants, which include scholarships for excellence and family assistance grants.
  • Professional Specialization with IQS Graduate Programs The range of IQS graduate programs provides students with the opportunity to develop their profession in a specific field of study with comprehensive training.
  • Research and Critical Thinking Research is an essential activity for providing quality education, developing critical thinking, and contributing to the advance of knowledge. For this reason, IQS encourages research in its undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs.

IQS has two Schools: IQS School of Engineering, where scientific and technical studies are taught, and IQS School of Management, where Economics and Business Studies are taught.

International Exchanges

IQS is fully committed to the idea of internationalizing science and believes that stronger international ties lead to higher-quality studies and research.

Student exchanges with foreign universities are an ideal way to complement IQS studies with an experience that will enrich students both academically and personally. Exchanges are made with renowned foreign universities, with which IQS has established exchange agreements. Specifically, IQS has exchange agreements with 96 universities: 44 in Europe, 31 in North America, 12 in South America, 3 in Central America, 5 in Asia, and 1 in Africa.

Through its International Relations Office, IQS supports and guides those students who wish to study part of their programs abroad. The International Relations Office also offers assistance to all international students who wish to come to IQS.

Thanks to these international exchanges, IQS students or researchers will enjoy the following advantages:

  • Improve a language: there is no better way to learn a language than to live in a country where it is spoken. This improves their professional possibilities, as international companies look for candidates who can speak a second language fluently.

The main purpose of the IQS School of Engineering is training and research in science and technology. The programs are designed to provide practical and interdisciplinary training, with special attention to both basic science and experimental work.

Research is an essential activity for providing high-quality education, developing critical thinking, and contributing to advances in knowledge. This is why IQS stimulates and promotes research beginning with the undergraduate and graduate programs and ending in PhDs.The IQS School of

Engineering facilities include laboratories, workshops, pilot and semi-industrial plants. In the teaching workshops and labs, each student is assigned a station for their individual use.

IQS School of Management is internationally recognized for the training of its graduates in Business Administration and Management.

Its mission is the comprehensive training of people with the attitudes, knowledge, and skills that will enable them to create, lead and manage competitive organizations, who will stand out in the industrial and technological sphere and who are committed to excellence and justice.
