requirements

Even if you have not yet received your diploma by the application deadline, you can apply with a current record of achievement and a certificate of the ECTS points you have currently achieved, the provisional final grade and the expected completion date.

  • Completed bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration or in a usually closely related course with at least 210 ECTS points. If you graduate with 180 ECTS points, you have the option of completing a BAföG-funded adjustment semester or completing the missing ECTS points parallel to the master's degree until you register your master's thesis.
  • A share of 30 ECTS points each in engineering and economics modules must be proven. If proof is not provided, the Admissions Committee issues conditions to complete additional modules to the required extent.
  • Practical work experience of at least 12 weeks (internships as part of the first degree are counted). If no internship has been completed, conditions will be imposed.

An admissions committee decides whether the professional requirements and any conditions are met.

The master’s degree in industrial engineering provides in-depth, application-oriented specialist knowledge based on a first professional qualification.

With the modules of the master's program, we enable you to broaden your horizons with regard to the classic topics of industrial engineering. In addition, you also go more in-depth and penetrate theoretical concepts more extensively. In this way, you will develop the ability to independently solve subject-specific problems in the classic areas of industrial engineering in industry, trade and administration as well as in scientific research and qualify for managerial positions in these areas. The orientation of the study content is more scientifically oriented and therefore also conveys the ability to do a doctorate.

Our Master's graduates are able to apply scientific knowledge and methods in their job as well as to conduct basic and application-oriented research. This includes the possibility of a doctorate. You will gain extensive knowledge and problem-solving skills in the field of industrial engineering. In addition to working in industry and trade, the accredited master's degree opens up access to higher service in public institutions. In principle, there are hardly any limits to your professional deployment and development opportunities - at least that is what the very different professional careers of our graduates show us.

Program structure

The master's degree in industrial engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences comprises three clearly structured semesters. The first two semesters each consist of three compulsory and two compulsory elective modules, the third semester serves to prepare the master's thesis and concludes with the master's colloquium. The modules of the Master's course aim at a deeper theoretical penetration but also a broadening of the classic topics of industrial engineering. Of course, you can also study part-time if you apply.

Innovation Motor to Counteract the Lack of Experts

HOST is one of the most important institutions for educating highly qualified experts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Graduates of our excellently ranked programs are highly sought after, not just in our region, but throughout Germany and abroad. Nearly all the programs can also be studied as part of a dual program with a high amount of practice. To make this possible, the University cooperates with several companies. Activities and the Baltic on the HOST Campus

And as studying is, of course, an important part, but not everything, there are lots of activities on offer on campus. The student project teams, Baltic Racing and ThaiGer, for example, develop racing cars at the highest level. Recently, HOST was even able to celebrate a European Championship title. The student business consultants at SUS support companies throughout the region. Carpe Diem e.V. organizes parties, cultural events, and the legendary Campusspektakel. The campus offers a wide range of sporting activities. And of course, the University has its own sailing club. And don't forget: the nearest sandy beach is just a five-minute walk from the campus…

High Quality of Life, Low Rental Costs

Studying in Stralsund has another important advantage: living costs are much lower than at several other university locations. Finding a cheap flat with a very good standard in the town center is no problem at all in Stralsund. At the same time, Student Services, of course, offer cheap rooms in the halls of residence.
