The Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems (BSMIS) prepares qualified graduates to develop, implement and maintain businesses with a foundation in both business operations and information technology practices. Taught by respected practitioners in their respective fields, this interdisciplinary degree focuses on analyzing business issues in a data-driven, evidence-based environment; identifying and leveraging principles in management, organizational behavior, operations, strategy and policy, and entrepreneurship; and developing strong leadership and communication skills while, at the same time, ensuring an ethical business approach.
The future of MIS
The core of this program focuses on the development of skills required by competent and capable individuals in the workforce. The goal is to help students to develop analytical and leadership skills and knowledge of organizations to make positive social, financial, and economic impacts. In this curriculum, students develop an understanding of how business and public organizations function; how technology will facilitate and speed up these interactions in achieving positive changes. Students take courses from four domain areas including Business Development and Analysis (BD&A), Leadership Development (LD), Technology and Innovation (TI), and Entrepreneurship Mindset (EM).

Business Analytics
Focuses on the use of business analytics to develop models using varied and complex data sets and, implementing model results to resolve complicated business problems.
Business Optimization
Focuses on the development and implementation of plans for organizations to redefine and strategize for lean operations as well as maximize asset utilization, quality control, cost minimization, and institutional efficiencies.
Entrepreneurship
Focuses on the development and implementation of business plans and innovative strategies to drive business growth and success – either as a consultant or as a business owner.
Information Technology Management
Focuses on the strategic use and application of technologies to achieve corporate strategies as well as improve overall personal and professional productivity.
