Our faculty bring real-world industry experience and knowledge into the classroom creating a collaborative learning environment.
The MBA is a fast-track program. The General Business Concentration can be completed in as little as 12 months. The program may take longer for other concentrations, and completion time also depends on the number of credits taken per semester.
Your time is already at a premium, so our eight-week sessions enable quick progress. Small classes and personalized feedback by our accomplished faculty provide the needed support for you to be successful as you balance work and study.
The rigorous 33-credit-hour program is designed to:
- Prepare graduates to operate successfully and lead organizations in a business environment that is global and rapidly changing.

Admission Requirements
Admission into the program is based on several factors to ensure a talented and diverse student body. These factors are:
- Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum graduating institutional 3.0 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript).
- Essay of purpose and graduate school interest.
- Three (3) professional references listed with contact information.
OR:
- Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum graduating institutional 2.75 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript).
- An interview conducted by Clayton State MBA (interview may be on campus or remote via teleconference).
- Essay of purpose and graduate school interest.
- Three (3) professional references listed with contact information.
OR:
- Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum graduating institutional 2.75 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript).
- Professional resume demonstrating 3 years of professional/managerial work experience.
- Essay of purpose and graduate school interest.
- Three (3) professional references listed with contact information.
OR:
- Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Bachelor’s degree with graduating institutional 2.00 – 2.74 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript).
- A minimum of 1000 total score based on GPA X 200 plus GMAT (GRE) score.
- Essay of purpose and graduate school interest.
- Three (3) professional references listed with contact information.
Above age 62 Acceptance requirement:
- Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript).
- A minimum of 10 years of business ownership or 10 years of executive-level management experience.
- Essay of purpose and graduate school interest.
- Three (3) professional references listed with contact information.
International Students:
- Applicants whose native language is not English or whose language of college instruction was not English are required to submit English Language proficiency scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The minimum score for the Internet Based TOEFL is 78. The minimum IELTS total for the 6.
- Academic credentials must be original documents with authorized signatures, seals, stamps, and must be evaluated by a credential evaluating organization. The School of Graduate Studies accepts evaluations that are prepared by either Josef Silney and Associates or World Education Services.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the MBA program take to complete? The General Business Concentration can be completed in as little as 12 months when started in the first term of Fall Semester or first term of Spring Semester as follows: 12 credits Fall Semester and 12 credits Spring Semester plus 9 credits Summer Semester. The program may take longer for other concentrations. Completion time depends on the number of credits taken per semester. Fall and Spring Semesters each consist of two eight-week terms.
How often will classes meet? Currently, in the Fall and Spring semesters, main campus classes will meet one day per week from 6:00 –10:15 p.m. MBA students take at least two classes each semester.
In the Summer semester, classes at the main campus are scheduled on most Tuesdays/Thursdays or Mondays/Wednesdays in June and July from 6:00 p.m. to 9:35 p.m.
Is the program considered full or part-time? International students on an I-20 will be required to take nine credit hours per semester to meet immigration requirements.
When can I start? We accept incoming students in the Fall (August and October), Spring (January and March), and Summer (May) of each year, depending on demand.

What if my undergraduate degree is in an area other than business? We welcome applicants from every discipline. We have students who majored in art, biology, criminal justice, nursing, psychology, and sports management among others. All applicants will be required to take the two foundation courses in their first semester.
I am an international applicant; what should I know about before applying to the program? We welcome international applicants to our MBA Program. The majority of the information for the program is the same for any applicant; however, international applicants should pay close attention to the MBA for International Students link on the navigation column above as well as this link to information for international students from the School of Graduate Studies website.
If I graduated from Clayton State University, will I still need to have an official transcript from CSU sent to the School of Graduate Studies? No, we can use your academic record in the DUCK. If you transferred classes into CSU, then we will need one official copy of your transcript from every school you attended for undergraduate and graduate credit.
Is the GMAT or GRE required? The GMAT/GRE requirement is determined by undergraduate grade point average. Please refer to the admissions requirements section for more details.
