The current digital transition of companies is leading to significant developments in the information system (security, access to data, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence) and new uses of IT (BYOD, teleworking, etc.). The CESI engineer uses his technical and scientific skills in this environment to carry out IT projects that meet these new requirements. At the end of this course, the engineer will have all the keys in hand to progress in his profession, manage and pilot large-scale projects. Beyond his technical and scientific skills, he will also be equipped with human skills to build and manage a team.
Possible Options
In the final year, the student can choose two options from: Data Scientist & Big Data, 3D Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality, Cybersecurity, Robotics, Research, Project Portfolio Management, Business Unit Manager, Innovation, Entrepreneurship. The list of options offered depends on the campus.
Five years to prepare you for the profession of engineer. In the preparatory cycle, you start with a year common to the four areas of CESI and gradually you move towards choosing your major in the 3rd year. You will be able to provide innovative solutions to the problems encountered. To specialize and stand out, opt for a 5th year option. Accredited by the Commission for Engineering Qualifications (CTI), this Program benefits from international recognition.
Corporate Missions
Preparatory cycle: Local program development / Website creation / Mapping or redesign of the local network Design and manipulation of databases Engineering curriculum: Design of WEB or mobile applications / Object-oriented developments / Design of secure networks / Modeling and administration database system or Information Systems / Optimization of processing/algorithms Processing of massive data
What he will be able to do in business
In the preparatory cycle, the student will carry out the missions traditionally entrusted to a senior technician: development of simple algorithms, design and development of electronic assemblies, embedded or non-embedded computer programs, carrying out functional validation tests, etc.
In the engineering course, the student progresses from the role of technician to that of engineer:
- Confirmed technician at the end of the 1st year: he masters the technical aspects of his missions and knows how to apply them independently
- Assistant engineer at the end of the 2nd year: he can deal with problems requiring new solutions, and supervise teams in the field
- Junior engineer at the end of the cycle: he is autonomous in dealing with entire subjects, integrating technical, economic, organizational and human dimensions.
The Evaluation System
In the preparatory cycle as in the engineering course, the evaluation system is based on continuous monitoring. The lessons are distributed in different Teaching Units; each unit corresponds to a certain number of ECTS credits. One year corresponds to 60 credits. Students must have validated all their teaching units and obtained their ECTS credits to move on to the next year.
The conditions for obtaining the diploma are:
- Validate all the Teaching Units, therefore having acquired 300 credits over the five years of training
- Obtain a B2 level certification in English
- Carry out mobility abroad for a period of 20 weeks
The CESI engineering course is a program involving a 2-year preparatory cycle followed by a 3-year course of study on campus which leads to an engineering diploma (level 7 Master).
